About the museum - Royal Worcester - Factory tour
Royal Worcester Factory Tours (Available Monday to Friday, duration 1 hour)
Skilled and knowledgeable tour guides will accompany you into the heart of the factory where you will see craftsmen and women at work and learn about the process of bone china manufacture and decoration.
The route passes close by the work benches and, depending upon the orders at the time, you can see figurines being cast from liquid slip, their delicate assembly and how they are propped and loaded on the impressive kilns, or possibly take a glimpse at one of the bespoke services commissioned by Royal Worcester's private customers.
The tour ends with a visit to the hand painting and gilding department where the fragrance of aniseed, used to thin the paints fills the air.
Please note:
The factory tour includes several flights of steep stairs, and due to safety regulations is not available to children under the age of 11. In order to avoid disappointment and to learn of factory shutdowns and holidays, pre-booking booking is advised.
