Label These rare tokens are printed on the front 'I promise to pay the bearer on demand two shillings. W.Davis at the china factory' and embossed WPC on the reverse. The factory probably issued them around 1780 when there was a national shortage of coins. Local trades people were persuaded to accept these tokens in payment from porcelain works employees.
