Label This fruit and wine cooler is from the elegant and imaginative service shown at the Dublin Exhibition of 1853. The enamel medallions were painted by Thomas Bott and the figures modelled by W.B.Kirk.
Description Large circular tureen type base with two handles A basin sits in the top with a fitted cover for use as an ice cream or sorbet holder. Alternatively a collar and wine amphora can sit in the top of the same base. Decorated with raised white and unglazsed Classical creatures and a background of thousands of gold dots. Small enamel portraits represent Tragedy, Comedy and Shakespeare.
